Burrendong Dam, on the Macquarie River, now sits at 3.3% of capacity, up from 1.6% just days ago, after receiving ~21,000 megalitres (ML) of inflows since 10 February.

Wyangala Dam, on the Lachlan River is at 13%, having risen from 8.4% on the back of inflows totalling ~60,000ML since 10 February.

Recent falls near Orange are expected to sustain flows into the Burrendong Dam, while flows have also been recorded in the Macquarie, Cudgegong and Turon Rivers, with Wyangala's principal source of inflows has been the Abercrombie River.

WaterNSW executive manager for system operations Adrian Langdon says; "In neither valley are we seeing storage increases that are game-changes but these inflows do provide some much-needed operational breathing space for the provision of town supply and critical needs," he said.

Windamere recreational areas will be closed on Monday, February 24, as advised by WaterNSW.

The road will be closed from the roundabout preventing access to recreation areas, while the main road from the highway to the public lookout and the dam wall remain open.

The closure is temporary in order to allow for trenchwork across the road to be completed, with any changes to be advised by WaterNSW.
