Embracing the craft beer boom, Club Mudgee is this weekend holding its second craft beer and cider festival which serves as a preview of sorts to a much larger event coming on the October long weekend.
Marketing Manager at Club Mudgee, Angela Fittler says the festival is a way to move with the times and embrace the changing tastes of their patrons.
What else is making news:
"The Club has identified there's a movement towards craft beer and away from our traditional brews - that's not to say that people aren't still drinking those brews - but anyone that's travelled recently knows that the craft beer movement is huge and gaining even more momentum as we go," she said.
"It's our way of retaining our members that are that way inclined as a different option to offer them and we've seen so much growth with the club within the club with the bistro and the new cafe that we've had an influx of visitors into the club. So we need to keep that momentum going and to offer them something different."
We think it's important to offer a couple of events, because not everyone can be here for wine festival - this not only gives the locals a chance to come out but people who are visiting...

This is the second such festival for Club Mudgee, Angela said the success of last year's event was the catalyst for more.
"[The event] It was fabulous, it exceeded our expectation, and the brewers loved being here because it's somewhere - it's a different venue. We've got three of the brewers we had in September coming back this weekend, we've got three new ones as well," she said.
"We think it's important to offer a couple of events, because not everyone can be here for wine festival. And this not only gives the locals a chance to come out but people who are visiting here for the football and the races.
"It's a bit of a precursor to being able to see what we have to offer and hopefully they love what they see and come back for the big one on the October long weekend."
