The show is at at the heart of any regional town, and with the setup of another Mudgee Show, following successful Gulgong and Rylstone shows, there is a sense of a return to normality for the region.

Bill Robinson, President of the Mudgee Show Society agrees that it's been a touch few months, but he says we can all start to relax and enjoy ourselves.
"What's been happening over the last several months around it as we watched the fires come down. We watched what's happened out at Rylstone, that show went ahead too. It is, it is getting it back to normal that we can - I know from myself, we missed most of December with one thing or another - and it is getting back to normal," he said.
"I'm still struggling to believe it's 2020 because I worked New Year's eve, New Year's day, Christmas day.
"It's time for people to relax and let their hair down a bit,the RFS and emergency services can now come - look around and say look at what a good job we did and try to get back to our normal routine."
175 years strong
This year's Mudgee Show - according to Bill - is the 175th consecutive Mudgee Show, something many other regions cannot boast.
"It's 175 consecutive years. And it's probably - there's only one other show society in New South Wales that comes close. A lot of them have a lot of years but but in the war and the depression and that they skipped a few years there but this one's been going for 175 consecutive years," he said.
"[It's] absolutely amazing when you consider some of the things going on in the world with droughts, floods, fires, the whole lot it just goes on.
"It's a testament to Mudgee that it's been going on this long."
Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee has agreed to open the Mudgee Show and it will kick off two days of entertainment, capped off by fireworks, yes there will be fireworks.
"We did toss up whether to go ahead with them a few times. I thought we could cancel them closer to the day but it's rained and it's not as much of a problem and the fires have all subsided so, we will still go ahead with that at its original time of 8.30pm," Bill said.
What to expect
Not to be forgotten is the Friday night Rodeo. Lewis Statham, Rodeo Coordinator said there's plenty to look forward to.
"So we've got, this year we've got fairly similar to last year with all the usual bulls and broncs and mini bulls and we've got a bit of a stockman's flag ride in there as well. As well as Lachie Cossor, the 'Outback Wrangler' with a bit of a teaser show," he said.
If you're a wool shower, the show kicks off a litter earlier for you at 8.30am with Junior Judging Competition Registration opening. The gates open to the public at 2pm on Friday and close at the end of the Rodeo which starts at 5pm.
