Management also pledged an extra $200 per week to further boost the fund. In addition Ulan Water came on board and donated four truck loads of water to be raffled and delivered free of charge to the winners.
The result was a total of $4813, which was presented to Mrs Beryl Haley, president of the Gulgong branch of the Red Cross recently. She thanked the club and its members and guests, along with Ulan Water, for their generosity and reiterated that the suffering of the bushfire victims will continue well into the future.
Mrs Haley spoke on the importance of organisations such as the Red Cross not only to the local community but to all Australians in need. And urged new members to join the organisation - whose numbers have diminished - to keep the local branch going.
