While other places in the region like Bathurst have seen a surge in activity to their local adult store in light of ever-increasing restrictions and self-isolation, Mudgee's Sweet Desires hasn't seen the same.

Owner Kerrie Robertson said she is thankful she's still able to operate and is working on a delivery service for Mudgee residents amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We have had a drop in sales. Obviously everyone's doing the right thing - trying to do the right thing. And so we have seen a drop. But we are still open and it's nice to be known as an essential service at this point in time," Kerrie said.

"So we will continue to be open. We're not open every day so that if people do ring the store we can answer the calls and usually we can work out if we need to come in and make an appointment for them to come in out of hours.
"If it gets to the point where you know, people are wanting to purchase things that they can't come out. I think I'll be looking into introducing into delivery within the Mudgee CBD."
Kerrie also said isolation can wreak havoc on a person's mental health and a healthy sex life is a great way to manage your wellbeing.
"Being isolated. A healthy sex life is great for your mental health, you know, it's certainly, you know, something that - usually our industry sometimes is judged. It's nice to be recognized," she said.
"It's really there to help add to rather than take away from any personal relationships."
