Almost immediately after the gates opened, Cavallo and Luckenbach Texas took a strong line along the inside, starting from barrier one, but the strong start was hobbled almost immediately as Luckenbach Texas bucked and then hurled Cavallo clear.
Following the completion of the race, Cavallo was taken to hospital and assessed.
The fall led Cavallo to be diagnosed with a fractured scapula, an injury to the shoulder blade.
Cavallo was sent home to rest and recover shortly after the diagnosis, such injuries normally take six weeks to fully heal.
Following Cavallo's fall, the race was won by Dynamite Dan, being ridden for trainer Mark Milton by jockey Jake Pracey-Holmes.
Rodney Robb's Bee Double Bee rode in second with Clayton Gallagher at the reins, coming in at a two-and-a-half length margin behind the winner.
Karen Lunn' Satan Da finished up in third place, with Brandon Griffiths sat in the saddle just a short distance behind Bee Double Bee.
