The Gulgong Sub-Branch was hit twice by the restrictions, as they were also going to hold their War Widows and Indigenous Service Personnel Commemoration.
However that service - which was scheduled for last weekend (Sunday, April 12) - was also cancelled.
Nevertheless, they're urging those who would've headed to Gulgong's Anzac Park on Saturday to try some of the NSW RSL's suggestions to use ingenuity to commemorate differently. And still remember those who served and sacrificed.

These include light up the dawn at 6am - go to the end of your driveway, stand on your balcony or in your lounge-room and listen to a brief commemorative service.
Be part of the community ode - record a video of yourself reciting The Ode or sharing a message of support for veterans on social media. Then use the hashtags #ANZACspirit and #lightupthedawn and share how you'll be commemorating privately, as well as who you'll be remembering this Anzac Day.
Tune into live services and virtual commemorative services - this includes the 5.30am service from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
Reach out to a mate or veteran who might be alone - as many people are alone during this time of isolation, it's an opportunity to invoke the Anzac value of mateship and check to see how a mate is doing. And if you know a veteran please call or reach out to them, check in on them, thank them for their service and help them if needed during this time.
Donate to the Anzac Appeal online at anzacappeal.com.au - donations support Australian veterans and their families in need.
