Now, it's over to the players; and the responses couldn't be more differet.

A handful are itching to play, while others are taking a more holistic view and say pushing the point in 2020 could have a lasting impact on the some of competition's clubs.

JACK BEASLEY: "I'd be keen to play footy, for sure.

"I know everyone wants to play this year and even in the small pre-season we had the vibe was really good.

"A short comp is way better than no comp."

CAM JONES: "We're pretty keen to go, really. Obviously it's going to be a bit difficult with sponsors and crowds but I think the footy in general, that's what everyone's looking forward to I guess.

"For the Bathurst knockout we had six or seven new players to the squad, a few pre-existing ... but I reckon it might play in our favour a bit, a shortened season.

"We've all been doing a bit of hard work while we can to try to get a leg up, it might work in our favour."

JACOB PARSLOW: "The club and all players are very keen to get back on the paddock regardless of how the season a structured and what decisions are made.

"Through the use of social media all teams have been keeping in contact and pushing each other through a bit at own personal training to stay on top of their fitness.

"The club as a whole is ready to start the season when we get the green light."

RON LAWRENCE: "Everyone at the club is just waiting and seeing what will happen. I think the general feel is, if there's no crowds we won't be playing though."

COREY WILLMOTT: "All our boys are keen to go and ready to rip in.

"The shortened season will be different but all clubs are in the same boat with money with most of our major sponsors being forced to shut.

"Renegotiation of contracts with players will have to come into and clubs with a few imports might find it hard to keep them ... that's where we are lucky, we are all locals at Workies.

"For me personally, July can't come quick enough. I'm itching to get back out there so I'm hoping everything goes to plan."

JAKE BLIMKA: "To be honest, I can't see how it can go forward.

"I think all the clubs are in the same boat, if we can't get crowds to games I don't think it can go ahead, we'll wait week-by-week.

"Ourselves, we've got a few new players to the squad but we had some good signs at the Bathurst Knockout, we really did have a good pre-season, most of the boys have been putting in throughout all of this as well.

"We're all pretty fit and ready to go if it does return."

RYLEY OBORN: "Yeah, I think little footy is definitely better than no footy at all.

"In saying that though, a lot of the clubs including us will struggle a lot without having crowds, and our pubs not being open. The club just won't be able to make any money.

"Unless there's an alternative to somehow reduce or eliminate the costs of fees and other payments that clubs pay to keep going week-in, week-out, I don't think some of the clubs will be able to stay in the comp.

"Playing-wise I'd love to get out there, as would most players, but it definitely wouldn't be best for business going forward.

"A lot of the businesses that sponsor clubs are also struggling which pretty much means that they aren't in the financial state to be handing out money to clubs.

"If Group 10 can figure out a way where all clubs can take the field without damaging their future than I reckon go for it, but if that cannot happen than I think it's best to just give the premiership the bears ... or just focus on next years season."

JOSH STARLING: "I think you've got to look at the longevity of the competition.

"You might ruin a few clubs by trying to do it this year and everyone knows clubs would be in trouble without crowds."
