Compared to the last few weeks, which saw average fuel prices in the Mudgee region rise, according to the latest NRMA report.
According to the NRMA Weekly Petrol Report, the average price of regular unleaded petrol in Mudgee for the week ending May 17, was 111.6 cents per litre (c/l) which is 1.7c/l up from from the week before. Similarly with diesel, the average price in Mudgee was 125.4c/l which is 0.5c/l down from the week before.
How does this compare to neighbouring centres?
Mudgee still compares favourably for unleaded and diesel when compared with Parkes and Broken Hill, both of which are 125.6c/l and 127.1c/l for unleaded respectively and 132c/l and 131.1c/l for diesel.
Comparing the Mudgee region to closer towns and cities is less favourable, with Mudgee being nearly 10 cents dearer than Orange which this week has an average unleaded price of 101.3c/l and 110.4c/l for diesel.
Unleaded:
- Cheapest, Moama: 98.5c/l
- Mudgee: 111.6c/l
- Dearest, Broken Hill: 127.1c/l
Diesel:
- Cheapest, Orange 110.4c/l
- Mudgee: 125.4/l
- Dearest, Batemans Bay: 127.9c/l
According to the data from NRMA, weekly average Singapore price of unleaded petrol (Mogas 95), which is the key petrol benchmark for Australia rose from $US 26.66 to $US 32.05 a barrel this past week, equal to a rise of 4.5 c/l in $AUD.
In regional NSW the past week regular unleaded prices have risen by 1c/l and diesel and fallen by 0.4c/l.
The NRMA also listed some notable price movements in the region:
- Regular Unleaded prices - rises, Gundagai 7.0 c/l, Armidale and Yass 7.7 c/l and Orange 9.0 c/l.
- Regular Unleaded prices - falls, Bega 5.6 c/l and Tumut 6.4 c/l.
- Diesel prices - rises, nil.
- Diesel prices - falls, Tumut 4.8 c/l and Bega 5.3 c/l.
Orange remains the cheapest place closest to Mudgee on average for both unleaded and diesel fuel, coming in at 101.3c/l and 110.4c/l respectively.
