Murrumbidgee Police District started an investigation in August 2017 following reports that a girl had been sexually assaulted by a man known to her in the 1990s.
At 8.20am on Tuesday, detectives arrested a 54-year-old man north of Dubbo, and he was charged with 10 counts of sexual intercourse with a person under their authority aged between 10 and 16 years old.
Police will allege the man sexually assaulted the girl who was then aged between 13 and 16, at a school in Hillston and other locations within the Murrumbidgee area between 1993 and 1996.
The man was granted strict conditional bail and will face Griffith Local Court on June 10.
