Murray Francis Oldham of Cypress Drive was also fined $220 for possessing ammunition without a licence/permit.
On Thursday, February 13, 2020, police were granted the search warrant, which they executed at about 1.05pm the following day.
They seized a small container of cannabis seed from the lounge-room, which the 60-year-old denied knowledge of.
In a spare room, on top of an open box, a .177 air-rifle was located, that he said he'd never seen before.
Fifteen rounds of .22 calibre ammunition were found in a pillow box at the head of a bed, which Oldham said he might've left there after a hunting trip.
On a shelving unit in the lounge-room, officers found two Holden tins, one containing cannabis seed, the other three re-sealable bags of cannabis. He claimed that the tins were collectible and that they were given to him, but he didn't check the contents.
More seed was located in three Pringles chip canisters and an M&Ms container, which he said he'd never seen.
In the yard of the property was a sealed-off shed, surrounded by dog cages. Entry to the shed was gained by crawling through one of the cages and inside over 30 cannabis plants were growing - this Oldham did admit knowledge of.
In total police seized; 250g of cannabis seed; 125g of cannabis; and 31 plants.
Upon reading the facts submitted to the court last Wednesday, Magistrate David Day said, "the sheer number of cannabis seed is serious - warrant to issue".
