Instead patients are being transported to the nearby Cahill Park or the Mudgee Airport for transport via helicopter.
Concern was raised by some Mudgee Guardian readers that the helipad, which saw a path upgrade in 2012, would no longer be used, instead patients would be taken to Mudgee Airport for airlift to city hospitals.
The Mudgee Guardian reached out to NSW Health for clarification.

A spokesperson for NSW Health confirmed that the helipad will be back in use once works are fully completed including the demolition of the old hospital site.
"The NSW Government's $70.7 million Mudgee Hospital Redevelopment project is nearing completion, with the new hospital now open to the community. While the remaining works on the site continue, helipad operations are being carried out off site to ensure the safety of patients and staff," the spokesperson said.
"Cahill Park or the Mudgee Airport are currently being used in the event of an emergency for helicopter or fixed wing (airport only) landings.
"Use of the helipad on the hospital site will resume after the remaining works have been completed, including the demolition of the old hospital."
The path to the helipad was upgraded in 2012 with financial assistance from Xstrata Coal.
