Last week, on behalf of the board of Pioneer House, Chairman Allan Codrington advised that the negotiations between Pioneer House and the Whiddon Group has now progressed with exchange of contracts and - barring unforeseen circumstances - change of ownership will take place on July 1.

In December 2019, the aged care provider, Whiddon, and Pioneer House announced a partnership for the two organisations to work together to explore potentially transferring ownership of Pioneer House to Whiddon.
Chairman Allan Codrington stated the past few months have seen Pioneer House and its staff continue to provide care during the COVID-19 pandemic and during the changeover process, all parties worked together to ensure positive outcome.
According to a release from Pioneer House, on completion all existing assets including building and land owned by Pioneer House will be transferred to Whiddon.

Earlier in June, CEO and other Whiddon Executives visit Pioneer House to talk to staff and Residents and continue fine tuning the process.
The Mudgee Guardian reached out to Whiddon for an interview but the company said it will speak more closer to the changeover date in July.
Back in December 2019, Whiddon CEO Chris Mamarelis said that Whiddon was excited to work with Pioneer House.
"In the current aged care landscape, many smaller providers are facing challenges around financial viability. As a large provider with a long and proud history, and a strong track record in regional communities," Mr Mamarelis said.
