The hotter months will be much more bearable for members of the Mudgee Sporting Clays club after a successful application to the Local Sports Grants Program.

Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders announced a grant of $4,949 will be used to install a new evaporative air cooler in the facility's clubhouse.
"Shooting is a year-round sport and we know our part of the world can get quite hot through the summer months," Mr Saunders said.
"Having a clubhouse that is fitted with adequate air-conditioning will not only provide comfort for members, but it will also provide a safer environment for people using the facility."
Mudgee Sporting Clays treasurer Ross Christian said the cooler will help the club retain and regain members.
"With the extreme heat we have been experiencing in the past few years we have noticed the numbers of our competitors decrease, especially with our older members," Mr Christian said.
"Our oldest member is 92 years young and still comes to the club every month when he can.
"Having an evaporative cooler for our members will make it a safer environment for our members in the hotter months."
