For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic has surfaced, local spectators will be allowed to attend a race meet.
On Thursday, July 2, 2020 Mudgee Race Club took to social media to announce members of the community would be permitted to attend Sunday's race meet.
However, restrictions will be in place such as;
- Patrons must remain seated
- Social distancing must be observed
- Horse owners will be allowed to view their horse outside the parade ring
- Restricted areas will remain in place
Mudgee Race Club secretary Colleen Walker says despite the unusual circumstances, people have been more than willing to comply, making things just that bit easier.
"The Mudgee Race Club and sponsors are so excited to be able to showcase our wonderful race course again," Walker said.
"People have been so respectful and they're just happy to be back at the races."
Anyone who is attending July 5's meet will be required to reserve their place, and can do so by sending an email to colleen@hwy.com.au or phoning 0448967778.
