A 34-year-old man was fined a total of $800 and disqualified for 12 months in Mudgee Local Court, for four counts of driving with an illicit drug present in his blood.

Matthew Peter Headley of Constantia Road, Mudgee, tested positive to methamphetamine when stopped for random breath and drug testing near the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Winbourne streets, on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
This also occurred when he was stopped in Church Street on the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 2019, on that occasion he said he'd consumed the drug a few days prior.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 3, 2019, tested positive at a stationary testing site on Horatio Street, and admitted to taking methamphetamine on August 29.
The earliest charge before court on Wednesday, June 17, dated back to Tuesday, June 25, last year, on Marshfield Lane.
Magistrate Alexander Mijovich said, because the offence doesn't attract a prison sentence, "I'm not sending you to jail - I'd like to, because it's about your seventh charge".
"If you decide to use it - and I don't condone it - you can't drive for several weeks," he added, due to how long the drug is still detectable.
