With 28 entries placed respectively across a variety of categories, Mudgee riders frequently earnt a top 10 finish.
The first competitive motocross stint for the season was hosted by Panorama Motorcycle Club, and MMC president Jason Box says being able to return to the sport is something that has been long awaited.
"To return to sport in general, and motocross racing in particular, is a good thing for everybody," he said.
"Being involved in sports, especially competition high activity ones like motocross, are important for everybody's well-being so it was great to see our sport back in full swing."
Box praised the efforts of his Club's riders with some finding themselves in top podium positions in a class featuring 30 odd competitors.
"The Mudgee riders performed extra well at Bathurst for round one," he said.
The competition on the day was at a very high level with over 200 riders attending from all over the state.

"Our riders continued to train and ride where they could throughout the off-season, although when the COVID-19 restrictions were enforced, unless you lived on land, it was quite difficult to do any type of training.
"All of the new riders loved the day and rode very well."
The meet had a special first with three generations of Statham's riders competing on the day.
"It was so nice to see a family of seven and three generations all doing the thing they love together, racing motocross, and to see a father and two sons in the one race was something that I haven't seen before," Box said.
Next up on the calendar is a two-day event at Maitland this weekend which will feature a selection of Mudgee's riders.
"To get involved in motocross, contact the Mudgee Motorcycle Club by our Facebook page. Just send us a message and we can steer you in the right direction," Box said.
"The Mudgee Dirtbikes Club is also looking forward to kicking off our competition race season soon. If anybody is interested look, up Mudgee Dirtbikes."
