Much like the rest of the sporting codes across the country, Mudgee Wombats women have been facing uncertainty around the season, but with all systems go, at this stage, they're on the hunt for some new faces.
Since restrictions began to ease, several players have been turning up to regular training sessions, but one of Mudgee Rugby Committee's senior coordinators, Helen Blackmore, says she would love for the 'family' to grow.
"Family dynamics have changed over the past few months with changes to people's employment and ability to commit, however we are lucky to have a strong following of supporters in the club which will certainly help with getting players on the field," she said.
"We have got several girls regularly turning up for training however we welcome newcomers to come and join us and bulk up the numbers. Our women's team is a wonderful mix of experienced players novice ladies.
The Wombats are more than just a team that plays footy. Mudgee Rugby Club pride themselves on supporting each other on and off the field. It is a wonderful family friendly environment that has a place for everyone.

"Regardless if you are a Mudgee local that walks into the clubhouse and already knows everyone or you are new to town and looking to meet like-minded people, we play hard on the field and have a great social time together afterwards."
Blackmore attributes the somewhat of a miracle that the Batties women will get a run this year to the efforts put in by the community to keep everyone safe and the relentless efforts of Central West Rugby Union.
"The guidelines were rather ambiguous to start with which made it hard to decipher if it was going to be something we could achieve, but with strong support from Central West Rugby Union and a dedicated committee, we are lucky to be pushing ahead," she said.
"The season was uncertain early in the year but if the community keeps doing the right thing and we don't get locked down with restrictions like Melbourne have been, I am confident we will have a great year."
Round one for the club kicks off in Parkes on July 18, with the first home game to be held at Jubilee Oval on July 25.
"Mudgee Rugby Club welcomes all the local community whether you are a player, supporter or want to get involved in volunteering with one of the many jobs we need to do to make the day run smoothly. If you would like to try out rugby, training is on Tuesday and Thursday night at 6:30pm," Blackmore said.
