More than 255,000 hectares were destroyed by the Palmers Oaky, Kerry Ridge and Meads Creek West fires during the 2019/20 bushfire season, with a number of buildings destroyed and multiple properties impacted.
Starting next week, Council's Bushfire Recovery Pop-Up Sessions will be held at Kandos Library (Community Centre, Angus Avenue) each Friday throughout August and September, from 11am to 1pm.
Council's general manager, Brad Cam, said the sessions are an opportunity to discuss recovery needs.

"In response to the devastating summer bushfires, Council established a dedicated Bushfire Liaison Officer role to directly assist those residents impacted by these events and has waived rates for those residents for six months to help them recover as quickly as possible," Mr Cam said.
"We understand phone and internet coverage in the affected area can be intermittent and these face-to-face sessions are an opportunity to get answers to your recovery questions.
"The Bushfire Liaison Officer can give you advice on your specific needs and direct you to the appropriate agency to assist."
Bookings for the sessions are not required, however attendees are asked to please follow COVID-19 physical distancing measures in place for the protection of staff and the community. These health orders and may be subject to change should those orders be revised.
