In a field of 12, the four-year-old drew a desirable gate and with Ronald Simpson in the saddle, the pair led the way for the whole duration of the 1280m stint.
"She's going good, she's won nearly 50 thousand now. She's only just turned four which is young for racing ages, really," Thompson said.
"It was good to get a win for Roger and Nerrida Atkinson, they're really good owners."
Two weeks before her winning run, Denace was 'unlucky' to only just place second to Luke Hilton's (Gosford) Mornay in the Kings Hall Jewellers Class 2 Handicap (1120 metres) at Dubbo on July 17.
"She probably should have won at Dubbo only she got a bad barrier and couldn't get wide and get a decent run," Thompson said.
She was very unlucky to get beat but that's racing.

The more she runs, the more Thompson is under the impression Denace is more suited to the long distance runs, which will come with age.
"We don't know how far she'll get because she's only young still," he said.
"We're hoping she'll be at 1600 but we'll find out this preparation now that she's a bit older, you can push them a bit further.
"I'm sure the further she goes, the better she'll get but you don't know if you don't try."
Thompson's Kookabaa will be jumping from barrier 8 on Wednesday, August 5 at 3.10pm in the Exceedance @ Vinery Handicap (1100 metres) at Canterbury Park.
"We're still firing really well, we've got a lot of good young horses coming through," Thompson said.
"I think with the last 60 runners, we've had 11 winners and 15 seconds. If we could turn some of those seconds into firsts we would have an even better strike rate."
