Shortly after 8pm on Monday firefighters were called following reports of truck alight on Bobadeen Road at Turill.
"Upon arrival, crews from 312 Gulgong [brigade] commenced fire attack with two separate crews working in breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and gain access to the rear trailer using hydraulic rescue equipment," firefighter Paul Cavalier said.
"The driver was unscathed and managed to detach the trailer from the rest of the truck before the fire was able to take hold."
Police, council and NSW Rural Fire Service crews were also called to the scene.
"Motorists in the area can expect delays for sometime, well into the early hours of tomorrow morning," Mr Cavalier said.
At 7am on Tuesday, Live Traffic had no reports of delays in the area.
The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
