The Mudgee Men's Shed had Rhonda Gainsford, Physiotherapist extraordinaire, attend and run a Mobility and Balance workshop recently.
Rhonda had the men flexing and gyrating all over the Shed as she explained the finer points of men growing old and what our bodies won't do if you let it sleep through the day.
It was like a commando raid, Rhonda stealthily sneaking up on the men who didn't know what she had in store for them.
Back and shoulder flexes, leg and pelvic bar exercises, push ups, and a set of pre-get up warm-ups. It was like having you first game of squash, we didn't know we had so many muscles to ache.
If we had a room full of aged men you would be lucky to get an agreement on anything, but all agreed that this was the best workshop we have ever had.
The Shed will follow up on Rhonda's program and install balance bars and exercise pullies.
All who are interested can attend the gym program on Friday mornings between 9am and 11am, as well as our normal Monday and Wednesday. New members welcome.
