On October 3, local trainers of the likes of David J Smith will have Need The Yen run in the Robert Oatley Vineyard Class 2 Handicap (1200 metres) from barrier 7 at 2.20pm.
Also carrying the torch for Mudgee based horses, Rawson Crossing from the Mark Milton stables will be going for the top prize in the Gooree Park Benchmark 50 Handicap (1400 metres) at 3.40pm.
Community members are encouraged to attend the day with gates opening at 11am, with tickets costing $10 per person.
All those wishing to attend must register by emailing Mudgee Race Club secretary Colleen Walker at colleen@hwy.com.au.
"We're asking people to book in and reserve seating," Colleen said.
The weather is looking to be ideal with temperatures to reach a top of 27 degrees.
All guests are required to remain seated when not conducting activities such as betting or purchasing food/drink.
The first race, Pink Up Mudgee Maiden Plate (1100 metres), will jump at 1.45pm at the Mudgee Racecourse.
The Pink Up race will feature two Rodney Robb (Dubbo) horses, In The Road and Nepenthes.
