Over the years, MSA has withstood the test of time this year celebrating their 43rd year in operation and is looking to do something a little different in 2020.
For the last couple of years, there ceased to be a local competition as such for softballers but Mudgee Softball Association secretary Tracy Lucas says this is something she endeavours to change.
"The last two years we've only had possibly between 35 registered players but we've had quite a few adults be interested," she said.
I'd like to get it a little bit more up and running to have a competition so they're playing for something, not just for the sake of it.

"This will help us see whether we will have the numbers to have a local comp for the adults and a Saturday one for children but we need the interest there.
"We don't want to lose the grounds because we're the only sport there, once it's gone the grounds will be closed, I should imagine."
Lucas' main aim of the sport is to get kids involved in something that gets them up and active as opposed to chained to the television screen.
"COVID has thrown a major spanner in the works but what we are trying to do, and have done for the last couple of years, is just keep the kids off the street," she said.
"It's also to have some fun and make some friends. A lot of kids struggle with mental health and to get a friend is really good.
"My thing is to get them off technology which I think you'll find all sports have suffered from."
The 'come and try' days will begin with a warm up followed by learning skills which will lead into a game of tee-ball to be finished up with a game of softball.
"Having to ask them to pay a registration fee before they could play is a bit tough because they would miss out so we're going to be fully covered with insurance from Softball NSW to have two, potentially three come and try days," Lucas said.
"It goes for an hour and is something you don't have to have a minimum number for, you can mix and match to suit everyone."
The days will be held on October 23 from 5.30pm to 7pm for seniors, and October 24 from 10am to 12pm for juniors at the West End fields.
