Police told the Mudgee Guardian that at about 4.20pm on Monday afternoon (October 19), a Mudgee man in his 80s collided with a fence near the Caerleon Estate entrance.
The man was treated at the scene and taken to Dubbo Base Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed for a short period but is back open. A number of cattle also escaped from their paddock when the fence was taken out but no animals were injured and they have since been relocated safely.
