The one-day car and motorbike rally had been slated for March 21, just as the pandemic swept across the country. Hosts Cudgegong Cruisers Inc made the difficult decision to postpone the event, with late 2020 pencilled in as an alternative.
Now with a COVID Safety Plan in place and a revised format, Can Cruise Mini - sponsored by Moolarben Coal - is ready to go on Saturday, November 14. Beginning at the Mid-Western Regional Council carpark in Short Street, Mudgee, at 9am, the road cruise (leaving around 10.30am) will head to Rylstone, via Ilford, for a picnic lunch at the showground.
No food or drinks will be served, so entrants are asked to bring lunch or head to one of the local businesses. Registration is online at 123Tix.com.au by searching for 'Can Cruise Mini 2020'.

"So it's going to be different to previous years. People need to pre-register online in order to keep with the COVID plan, so that we have who's there and their details in the very unlikely event that something happens," John Stuart of the Cudgegong Cruisers, said.
In recognition that it's been tough times financially for many people, there'll be no registration fee. However, participants will be asked to donate on the day to ensure Can Assist - Mudgee and Districts Branch are still looked after.
The volunteer, community group help people in the local region who are experiencing difficulties following cancer diagnosis. Such as with oncology related pharmacy items, accommodation during treatment, travel, home aides, and utility expenses in times of financial hardship.
"There'll be no fee to register, but we will be asking for donations on the day. As usual the proceeds will go to Can Assist, who haven't been able to do any fundraising this year because of COVID," Mr Stuart added.
"So we're hoping to raise something for them, because unfortunately COVID has stopped a lot of things this year but it hasn't stopped cancer."
