Jett Bodiam's under 14s Midwest Brumbies side put on one mighty performance to squash the Wiradjuri Goannas' hopes with the home girls walking away with a 20-10 victory and a grand final ticket.

Since round one, the outfit have been serious competitors and Bodiam says it was a team effort that has seen the girls progress to the final stage of the Western Women's Rugby League competition.

"The girls came out strong with some early tries from Claire Bodiam and Tilly Jessamin to put us in front for the first half, the girls were all looking in good shape," Jett said.

"The Goannas came back firing on all cylinders in the third quarter putting two tries on us, bringing it to 16-10. Our girls dropped their tempo and it got the best of them.

"After a few changes and a water break, our girls came back firing with Claire going through the line for another try to take us to 20-10, the Goannas couldn't break our line. After a hard and hot game the girls came out with the win.

"I couldn't have been prouder of the kids, when they won it was high fives all round and a bit of nerves coming on for this week.

Up against the Orange Vipers on November 22, Bodiam is as confident as ever with high hopes of the Brumbies coming out on top, but says it's a case of 'whoever wants it more'.

"I'm confident going into this grand final on a very high level performance from both teams. Whoever wants it more on the day is going to play a major factor in this game," he said.

"If we keep trying up until the last few minutes, we can get there.

"I would like to thank Megan Bodiam for managing this team as well as all the support we have had from the parents taking time out to help wherever needed, and to our club president Guy Pascoe for all the efforts in getting this club up and running."

The Midwest Brumbies take on the Vipers on November 22 at Waratah Sporting Oval, Orange at 10am.
