It was a high intensity physical game from the tip off to the final whistle, the commitment to deliver an end of season spectacle to supports and spectators alike in the oppressive heat conditions, a credit to teams.
Predators were out of the blocks quickly in the first quarter, eager to stamp their authority on the game, and by the first break held a handy lead of 12 points to 7.
Stunned to be in the unusual position of trailing at any break, Just Brick It hit back strongly early in the second period through Keiran Osborn, Chris Spinner and Matt Purtell.
However, Nathan Martin, Anthony Hamson and Ben Edmunds were hammering away at the other end keeping Predators on an even footing and still ahead 17-15.
But, two three point bombs from Steve Marshall instantly changed the complexion and the momentum of the game for Just Brick It, and the Preadtors defence unable to charge down the long range shots, Just Brick It headed to the long break with a single point advantage.
Predators fought desperately in the vital third quarter to stay in touch, but were only partially successful, that desperation did keep them within striking distance at the final break, only trailing by three points.
A three pointer from Blake Joseph tied it up for Predators, but that was answered in similar fashion by Chris Spinner for Just Brick It to take back the lead.
Bayley Brown and Marshall went on a head to head battle with Anthony Hamson to tie up at 36 each, then after Clinton Wilkie put Predators briefly ahead, Osborn and Spinner scored to take the Bricks to the lead again.
There was the final flurry of points from Predators in the final moments, but a couple of turnovers gave Brick it possession and points to break clear to win by nine points, in the end not a true reflection of how close the game was.
For Just Brick It, Keiran Osoborn top scored with 14 points, Adam Coughlin 9, Steve Marshall 8, and the Blowes Clothing and Club Mudgee MVP.
Anthony Hamson 11 points for Edmunds Interior Predators, Ben Edmunds 9, Blake Joseph 8.
