Earlier in the day they had come through an equally tight match against Hairy Ballers 31-29 to set up the clash with Stride Health.
This energy sapping game did not seem to hinder Levens in the grand final, leading 14-8 at the first break, and by half time an upset was looking likely as they were now ahead 22-14.
Stride Health kept their opponents at bay to a certain extent in the third period, but they were unable to find an excess of baskets to exert pressure on the Smash Repairs defence, and still trailed by nine points at the final break.
Leven's continued to dominate up to the mid point of the final quarter, when their defence started to come apart and their shot making was off target.
Stride Health, sensing an opening, were suddenly back in the game after a Phil Riley three pointer. Sam Watson then slipped the defence for a basket, and Levens were looking like they might let the match slip.
However, a series of bonus free shots put them on them back on track, and they were able to hold on, just, to snatch a two point upset victory.
For Levens Smash Repairs, Andrew Foley 10, Adrian Millsom 9.
For Stride health, Andrew Channon 11, Phil Riley 7.
Junior boys grand final taken out by Mudgee Travel and Cruise
In arguably the best game of the day, Mudgee Travel and Cruise outlasted Mayso's Pro Shop Kings 51-47 in extra time to take out the junior boys grand final.
It was as a thriller from start to finish, neither team able to dominate for long periods.
The biggest gap was at half time where Mudgee Travel and Cruise led 15-11, but from then, all indications were that overtime was looming, even though there was still a half to play.
The second half was the highest of any of the grand finals, Mayso's Pro Shop hitting back 16-13 in the second period and 15-14 in the final quarter to tie up the game at full time 42-all.
Mack Codrington two free shots giving Mayso's the edge in extra time, but Matt Robinson notched a quick reply, before a basket by Riley Tonkins for Mayso's, then Robinson again which tied up the game once more.
Codrington gave Mayso's Kings the lead with a free shot, but Connor McLean scored and was fouled, and with a three point play, gave Mudgee Travel & Cruise breathing space by two points, Kings though with plenty of time to even the score.
But unfortunately for the Kings, a defensive rebound by Jaxson Turnbull, gave Travel & Cruise another chance to add the winning basket with time almost up , and Connor McLean duly hit the shot, for Mudgee Travel & Cruise to win by four points.
Matt Robinson scored 23 points for Mudgee Travel & Cruise and was the Club Mudgee MVP, Connor McLean 11, Jaxson Turnbull 10.
Mack Codrington with 25 points was the match high scorer, Riley Tonkins 8, Lachlan Hemingway 6.
