This obituary has been published with thanks to Peter's family. Peter was a regular face at the Mudgee Guardian office at Perry Street (now at 2/102 Church Street). He would visit a few times a week with stacks of books with which he'd study history. He would politely ask for photocopies of the pages within and we were happy to oblige.

Peter Lawrence Power was born on the 29th of June 1938 and passed away on the 3rd of January 2021. Peter grew up in Turill, and in his younger years he was a police officer.

Peter bought land in Turill and Cassilis, where he bred exceptional Charolais cattle and renowned Australian stock horses. Peter was also a shearer (seen above). In Peter's later years he thoroughly enjoyed being an historian.

Peter was known as a decent fair-minded man.
