Capping off a turbulent year, Mudgee Martial Arts awarded a selection of students at the closing of 2020.
Despite last year hardly being one of certainly, many students strived to continue developing their skills and Shihan Geoff Spice says it's a true testament to their character.
"Because 2020 was such a bad year, we decided to pick a student from each class per day and nominated them as the Student of the Year for their group as well as the overall Student of the Year," he said.
"The students we chose came back from all of the temporary COVID-19 closures and still excelled and committed themselves to training.
"It capped off a pretty difficult year very well."

For the Monday senior beginners, Liam Standen received his purple belt, while Liam English graded to his orange belt and received the Student of the Year for their class.
Ben Jeeves received his orange belt and was awarded Student of the Year for Wednesday's adults senior class.
