In an attempt to prevent future vandalism attacks, CCTV cameras have been installed.
The playground was destroyed by fire on two occasions, most recently in 2019 which cost a total of $50,000 to repair.

In addition to fires at the site, residents of the area have also suffered from multiple vandalism attacks including, but not limited to, the destruction of letter boxes.
On a social media post, Mid-Western Regional Council said "vandalism costs Council and the community thousands of dollars each year."
