AN 82-year-old man was airlifted to Orange Base Hospital on Thursday, January 14 from Spring Flat, South of Mudgee, after being trapped under a slasher for over five hours.

Paramedics and other emergency services received a triple 000 call for help to the property just after 1.30pm following reports the elderly man was stuck under what was believed to be a hydraulic ram.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said the man was trapped under the slasher since 8.30 that morning, it's believe he became trapped when the slasher hydraulics lowered to the ground.
The man, who was treated at the scene by paramedics for, was transported in a stable condition via chopper to Orange Base Hospital suffering minor lacerations and environmental exposure.
