Held on Australia Day, the course is of 'grand prix' style, something the Devils are keen to unleash on.
"Bathurst Interclub has always attracted a strong contingent of Mudgee members. It is always an enjoyable day with great racing and competition from Central West rivals," Mudgee Triathlon Club secretary Giselle Denley.
"Mudgee's form coming into this race is strong with solid off-season training for most members.
"We hope to see Mudgee have a big turnout out yet again."
While many other sports have suffered at the hands of COVID-19, the virus has provided an upper hand for the triathletes, allowing for less distractions.
"The season so far, which started in October, has been relatively the same as previous year with just a few COVID restrictions in place, registering and post-race presentations, however the restrictions have not affected the format of the racing," Denley said.
"With COVID cancelling most events from March to September in 2020, Mudgee members have been able to concentrate on consistent local weekly training with little interruptions. This is key to a strong performance during race season."
In order for Mudgee to maintain the first rung on the ladder, Denley says the squad, who have a selection of new competitors in the 20 to 29 years and 30 to 39 years categories, must have as many entries as possible.
"The key to Mudgee gaining individual and club points is to have members entered across all age groups. The more participants we have, the more opportunity we have to earn points," she said.
Round two of the Central West Interclub Series will be held at Bathurst on January 26, 2021.
