On Wednesday, January 13, Federal Member for Calare and Minister for Decentralisation and Regional Education, Andrew Gee met with the Coordinator of the Gulgong Gold Experience, Joy Harrison, and Peter Raines from Council to inspect the new work.

Manager of the Gulgong Gold Experience, Joy Harrison, said that she was looking forward to the installation of some nesting boxes to complete the project.
"I'm thrilled to have another stage of the Red Hill Master Plan completed," Ms Harrison said.
"The box woodland and grasses are in and we're also looking forward to the installation of nesting boxes to try to encourage the return of the precious Regent Honeyeater to the region."
The work on the project has been carried out by Council workers.
"Funding from the Australian Government has allowed Council to continue the beautification of this site by planting a number of indigenous trees and shrubs to rejuvenate the Red Hill environment and encourage growth and protection of the plant and animal species native to the area," Mid-Western Regional Council's Acting General Manager, Simon Jones said.
"Council would like to thank the Australian Government and Andrew Gee for their investment in this project."
Thirty two children from Mudgee Little Learners visited Gulgong Gold Experience and they were there at the same time Andrew Gee dropped in to see the new tree planting.
"Projects like this are a great example of the positive work that can be achieved under the Australian Government's Communities Environment Program," Mr Gee said.
"It's wonderful to think what a positive impact these trees will have on the biodiversity of this area. They will also provide an even better experience for visitors to the Gulgong Gold Experience, creating shade and a place to sit and enjoy the surrounds."
