I often hear Gulgong Residents venting their grievances about Mid-Western Regional Council. I would like to say to them: 'Have a look around'. In the past twelve months, Council has built a "state of the art" Adventure Playground and spent over $100K on the refurbishment of the Memorial Hall.

We now have new "Welcome to Gulgong" signs at each entrance to town. Have a look down Lynne and Nandoura streets for the new footpaths that are currently being constructed. These new footpaths are going to make walking to school much safer and easier.
On a personal note and the reason why I decided to write to the Editor. After all the recent rain the potholes in our road were becoming dangerous especially after the garbage trucks drive through two to three times each week. The bitumen on the sides of the road was also breaking up.
On January 14th, 2021 I took photos and wrote an email asking for a work order to be put in to Council to see if they could come out and see for themselves what had to be done. I drove out my drive on 19th January and the road had been fixed. They even put more bitumen on the sides of the road I hadn't requested making the road more even.
If you want something done you only have to ask and if it is within reason it will be done. Be proud of our beautiful town and the Council that keeps it so. Visitors often comment on the lovely colourful parks and gardens we have in town and how they are kept mowed and clean by the Council.
