Commencing February 15 at Victoria Park, junior and senior players will get the opportunity to tweak their skills in time for the main season.
Mudgee District Hockey Association publicity officer Tara Fisher says the competition is not only beneficial for returning players, but also a chance for those interested to try their hand.
"It's a come and try pre-season competition that welcomes both returning and new players. For those returning, it's a chance to get your skills up to scratch and for those looking to join, it's a taste of what we're all about," she said.
"We're trying to get hockey more established in Mudgee because it's a great sport for all levels, we would really like to not only build our profile but our competition also.
"It's good fitness and a great way to get social, especially during the full season because we're always hanging out watching everyone play."
For juniors, hockey sticks are available for use but players must bring their own mouth guard and shin pads.
For seniors, players must bring their own hockey sticks, mouth guard and shin guards.
