Some of the fastest dogs from the best kennels around the country are expected at Dubbo in the coming months for a new feature event to be contested at Dawson Park.

It was announced on Tuesday the Ladbrokes Brother Fox Carnival will be run in May, with the headline being a $40,000-to-the-winner final over 516m on Friday, May 28.
The heats will be run on the Saturday prior in what will be a massive sporting weekend for Dubbo, given South Sydney and Penrith meet in an NRL clash at Apex Oval on the Sunday.
The Brother Fox series has been named in honour of one of the great greyhounds to come out of Dubbo.
Brother Fox was bred and trained in Dubbo by Steve Kavanagh and became a Hall of Famer, with wins in the Peter Mosman Classic and Vic Peters Classic among his numerous victories at Group level.
"It just takes the Dubbo club and Dawson Park to another level," Dubbo Greyhound Racing Club president Shayne Stiff said.

"It's going to be a big week and I'd love to see in the next five to 10 years it go to a $50,000 and then $100,000 race here in Dubbo, that would be sensational.
"I don't think the greyhound industry does enough to honour its champions so we're very proud to run this for Brother Fox."
Stiff had already spoken to numerous trainers around the country about potentially being part of the series and he said the interest was there.
"It will come down to programming but I've got no doubt some of Australia's best dogs will be at the track for that race," he added.
"The club is looking to go from strength to strength. We have focused on ensuring racing infrastructure is routinely improved for the welfare of our dogs, built new family friendly amenities and this is the next step that shows we are going places."
The Brother Fox listed event will replace the Dubbo Cup and offers a $15,000 rise in prizemoney from that race.
Kavanagh said the event naming meant a huge amount.
"Brother Fox was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2013 and this is as big of an honour as that night," Kavanagh said.
"He (Brother Fox) was my best mate, we travelled everywhere and people just loved him."
The Bill and Peg Miller series will be run at the same time again as well but it will now have $10,000 on offer for the winner of the final.
The carnival will also include the Ladbrokes Red Dog event over 605m and with it being non-graded Stiff added he expects that race to be "city class".
Stiff also said many thanks had to go to the Dubbo club's committee and secretary Courtney Norbury.
