Darren Harding, K Hub Mudgee store manager said he's excited to see what the community thinks of the new store.
"We've been part of the Mudgee community for the past nine years and we're so excited to continue our journey with Kmart," he said.
Mr Harding reiterated that despite being a smaller store, the shopping experience isn't compromised.
"Our K hub store is stocked full of great value, on-trend products that we know our customers are going to absolutely love. It's the 'best of the best'. The store will also offer customers unprecedented accessibility to two of our key Kmart Group brands, as the hub will become a collection point for online Target orders," he said.
This means that eventually customers will be able to use the store as a collection point for online orders from Target, Kmart and Catch.
Kmart confirmed to the Mudgee Guardian in December 2020 that all existing Target Country staff had been offered the opportunity to move into a position at the new store with the some new faces to welcome customers on Friday as well.
"Customers will also be welcomed into store with some familiar faces. Eight of our Target team members have joined the K hub team; and we're thrilled to have been able to recruit another 11 team members from the local community," Mr Harding said.
