After COVID-19 saw the cancelation of their plans to wed in Fiji last October, on February 20, 2021, the now happily married couple tied the knot at Parklands Resort.
"I had my formal there six years ago and I remembered the look of the pine trees and that you can see the mountain views," Swastika said.
"I thought Parklands would be a good place to have a wedding, it's all open and beautiful."
A trip to Brisbane from the Sydney Domestic Airport in 2018 was where it all began for Swastika and Sonny.
"I did a flight attendant course and after applying for positions for a couple of years, I couldn't get anything. My mum was sitting on the back verandah looking through her phone and told me to apply for this position at an Emirates recruitment day," Swastika said.
"I got an email to say I could attend. It was in Brisbane so I went to Sydney Domestic Airport on Saturday and when I checked in I saw Sonny sitting there looking ahead.
"By the time I got to the front stairs after going to the back first, I met Sonny and we were saying 'you go first'.
"On Sunday morning at 8am it was the recruitment day, we both went there but we didn't see each other. Then when everything finished, I saw a similar face to Sonny's and was wondering if it was him or not.
"I went up to him and we started talking, I asked if he was the one on the plane and then we had a 'wow' moment because it was him.

"We started talking and then he asked for my number. The next day we went out and then Sonny went back to the airport and I went back to my mum's friend's house.
"After a while, I was talking to Sonny when I was back in Mudgee and then I applied for a job at Woolworths in Mascot. I went to the interview and Sonny picked me up. I came back home and he helped me move to Sydney.
"After two weeks, we really got to know each other and have loved one another ever since."
When asked what it's like to now be a married couple, Swastika said, "it's not like boyfriend and girlfriend anymore. I have put my stamp on him now, he's my partner forever."
As for Sonny, he says the pair are very happy together and added "we are finally family now, we are all together. Everyone is happy and that's the main thing."
