On March 2, Mudgee Public School principal John Carters and Mr Saunders officially open the school's new multipurpose courts.
Funded by the My Community Project program, a total of $140,000 was allocated to the project.
"This multipurpose court at Mudgee Public School will be used by so many young people in the community," Mr Saunders said.
"Sporting and recreational amenities which promote a healthy lifestyle for children are vitally important to our schools and I know this new facility is going to be enjoyed by the entire school community."
Funding for local schools
A quartet of schools in the Mid-Western local government area will receive funding as part of the NSW Government's $120 million Regional Renewal Program.
Schools who have been allocated funding includes:
- Lue Public School - $140,000 for a playground upgrade
- Mudgee Public School - $40,000 for administration and staff upgrades
- Goolma Public School - $140,000 for a covered outdoor learning area, shade structures and walkways, and
- Gulgong High School - $24,000 for the covering of a veranda area and to replace existing doors
"The projects that are being funded have been identified by the schools as priorities and I am glad that a wide variety of projects are being funded," Mr Saunders said.
Delivery of these projects will be undertaken in the next 18 months as part of the NSW Government's economic stimulus package.
