March 2009 can be remembered as the time in the region's history where State Crime Command Drug Squad detectives raided a property near Mudgee, arresting four men and dismantling a large cannabis cultivation operation, firefighters fought to contain a blaze that burnt 160ha of private property along Grattai Creek Road, or on a lighter note, bring excitement to locals with the annual Mudgee Show held.
