Oberon Tigers, CSU Mungoes, Portland Colts and Lithgow Bears have all entered teams in both the men's and women's competitions, while Kandos Waratahs and Orange United have entered teams in just the women's competition.
Mid West Cup president Dallas Booth said the knockout will be a solid pre-season hit out for the competing clubs.

"It'll be a good hit out for the clubs, working on some combinations and gaining some match fitness. Most teams have already played in a knockout or a trial, so it'll sort of build on that," he said.
"The season is not starting towards the end of April, so it'll be a good hit out before having another three to four weeks before the season starts."
The men's competition will see each team play everyone once, with the best two performing teams to contest a final.
In the women's competition, CSU, Lithgow and Orange United will be in one group together, with Kandos, Oberon and Portland in the other. The winner of each group will contest the final.
The competition will see the return of the Portland Colts, with the club withdrawing its men's and women's for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Booth, a former Portland player, said he's excited to see the Colts back in action.
"It's really good to see Portland back. They're a great club, with a great committee," he said.
"It was disappointing for them not to be in the comp last year. Being a smaller town and the sponsors being the pubs, clubs and RSLs, they were affected the most by COVID-19.
"They were unable to make it work last year, so it's really good to see them back. They're going to have two really strong teams."
Kandos, however, will not field a men's team after having one during the 2020 Mid West Cup season but it will still field a women's team.
"Kandos pulled their men's side out, but there'll be six league tags. They just didn't have enough men numbers," he said.
"I'm lead to believe a lot of the players that played were out from Mudgee, which makes sense. It's a shame, because they've got a good committee and a good pub. I'm sure they'll be back next year."
Women's league tag draw (played at rugby union field):
- CSU v Lithgow (10am), Kandos v Oberon (10.40am), United v CSU (11.20am), Kandos v Portland (12pm), United v Lithgow (12.40pm), Portland v Oberon (1.20pm), Final (3pm)
Men's draw (played at Diggings Oval):
- Portland v Oberon (10am), Lithgow v CSU (10.40am), Portland v CSU (11.40am), Oberon v Lithgow (12.20pm), Portland v Lithgow (1pm), CSU v Oberon (1.40pm), Final (4pm)
Games will be 15 minute halves, with the finals of both men's and women's to be played over 20 minutes.
