Club president Andrew Campbell wanted to provide disability support clients with a unique experience they wouldn't have been exposed to in their regular activity schedule.

"We wanted to give something back to those in the community that aren't as lucky as us. We feel privileged to do this stuff whenever we like and we wanted to share the fun with them and make it accessible," he said.

There were seven club vehicles and eight MDSS guests along for the ride that started from the base of Mount Airlie, past old mining relics and finally to the pinnacle which showcases stunning views of the mountain.

"We were stoked, as a club it was very rewarding that all of our members were able to give these guys a day they enjoyed," Mr Campbell said.

Mudgee Disability Support Services client Stephen Waller was thrilled to participate in the trip.

"It was great that two different organisations came together for community-minded reasons. It was good fun chatting to the drivers, listening to them on the two-way radios, we all felt very safe," Mr Waller said.

"It's important that everyone feels like they can participate and be community members, there weren't really any barriers that we came across, and everyone could join in."

Mudgee Disability Support Services coordinator Ingrid Puxty said the organisation had never considered four-wheel driving, or anything like it, until Mr Campbell approached them.

"Our biggest concern was how rough the driving would be, some of these guys have seizures that we have to be careful about and for the four-wheel drive club to take that on for an entire day, well huge respect to these blokes," Ms Puxty said.

"They don't get invited to many things and we ask the community to not forget about these guys. They're looking for things to do, and ways to get involved with the community."
