Mudgee Health Council member John Bentley was happy to see that the Hospital's physical history would be safeguarded.
"It's a small, but wonderful thing, that of the tens of thousands of bricks from the 1950's hospital crushed for roadbase, some were retained and the best place for some of them is the Mudgee Museum," he said.
"It's a lovely bit of historical reminiscence. A lot of people in Mudgee were either born in that hospital or had children in that hospital."
Mudgee Historical Society president Barry Wells welcomed the addition of the bricks to the Museum's collection.
"The previous hospital building was an important part of a lot of people's lives for generations, and held many memories for so many residents. The Museum is thankful we were chosen to be the custodians of this little bit of history," he said.
Nearly 500 bricks have been retained by the Health Council for use in future landscaping around the new hospital.
