Council first introduced water restrictions at the start of August 2019 in response to the drought.
The decision was made as drought conditions have greatly improved due to the return of rainfall across the region this year, and in particular following significant rain events in March 2021.
Windamere Dam was 32.1 per cent full when water restrictions were introduced, it now sits at 33.7 per cent, which satisfies the trigger that restrictions would be lifted when water reached a level greater than when restrictions commenced.
General Manager Brad Cam encouraged residents to continue water saving methods at home.
"Whilst restrictions have now been lifted across the entire region, Council is strongly encouraging residents to continue water saving practices they've adopted over the last 18 months.
"Things such as using trigger hoses instead of standard hoses when watering gardens and lawns, watering only in the early morning or late afternoon, turning off the tap when brushing your teeth, all these small things can make for a huge difference to water consumption."
Restrictions have now been lifted across the entire region. Rylstone and Kandos water restrictions were lifted in November last year following the Rylstone Dam reaching 100 per cent capacity.
