After just three minutes, the Wolves had managed to swarm Panorama's box, and Michael Glisic scored the first goal of the match.
However, just minutes later the Panorama Goats returned the favour and brought the score up to 1-2 for Panorama.
Both teams had their own motivations to win; the Wolves have been desperate to make their mark in the competition and win a match, whilst the Goats needed a win to keep them close to the top four on the ladder, or face being left behind.
After Panorama made two dangerous crosses, Mudgee Captain Lindsay Henderson took control of the back line and pushed the Goats out.
It seemed like Panorama would hold their advantage going into into the break, but furious direction from Mudgee Coach Harry Hall pushed the Wolves to create much-needed space and score just before the half-time whistle.

The Wolves kept up their momentum and David Hagtharp raised the score again. Mudgee Wolves President Christopher Clegg was thrilled with the team's performance.
"It was good to have one of the strongest teams that we've fielded this year. It was a gutsy effort considering we have so much stacked against us, so to have a four-three win is a fantastic effort by the boys," he said.
"We're a new team coming together and the combinations will grow and I think this is the start of our run in to the end of the season."
Panorama's Nathan Davis scored from a penalty in the final 20 minutes, which raised the Goats' hopes, but it was in vain. The referee was hounded as players dropped like flies from fouls in the fervour to score.
The Wolves used the panic to prey on the Goats in a moment of distraction and Harrison Maynard scored the final goal, and secured the win.
Panorama FC coach Brent Osborne was impressed with the Wolves' progress.
"We still probably weren't quite there tonight but full credit to Mudgee, we've seen them building over the last couple of weeks. I know they haven't picked up any points until tonight but you could see over the last couple weeks they've been playing some good football and they've started to click," he said.
MUDGEE WOLVES 4 (Michael Glisic 2, David Hagtharp, Harrison Maynard) defeated PANORAMA 3 (Ryan Peacock, Paul Lang, Nathan Davis).
