The works won't begin until Monday, 21 June and they're expected to take approximately three weeks.
Council said there may be minor delays and disruptions at the crossings on Market Street, outside Mudgee Library, Church Street, outside Moufarrige Mall and Mortimer Street, outside Woolworths.
Construction works will take place during and after business hours to minimise impacts and construction areas will be barricaded (see attached) and traffic control will be in place during the installation process.
The project was identified by Council and the Local Traffic Committee as well as community members. In a recent community engagement survey on the High Pedestrian Activity Area, many respondents called for improved lighting at crossings.
