One of Mudgee's oldest traditions, the Bligh Picnic Races was back on Saturday after skipping 2020 due to COVID. Since the first race was run in 1877 the races have only ever been cancelled a handful of times. The first for a few years during the first World War and last year during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It has a long history as one of the most glamorous sporting and social events of the year in the Mudgee district and 2021 was no different with a sizeable crowd frocking up for the meet.
