The North West Falcons FC men's and women's teams have been ruthless in their own respects during this year's Dubbo and District Football Association competition.

As they approach a bye, the fourth grade men's Falcons squad are leading the pack, remaining unbeaten for nine weeks in a row.
"It's a pretty good streak. It's normal for us to be up the top half of the competition, we've only ever missed the finals twice, but to be unbeaten after this long is a pretty good effort," North West Falcons FC co-president and Falcon's men's goalkeeper, Greg Reid said.
"The last two seasons, we've lost the grand final so that bit of determination is driving us to try and go one better this year.
"We've got a really good team, it's basically the same squad running for three years in a row."
As for the Falcons women, after the second grade splitting in half, they've found themselves in the top five of the competition, despite their first year back in action.
"They had some pretty inspiring results earlier in the season," Reid said.
"To go out there and be in the top five of their grade when they just wanted to try and compete this year and get numbers...they've done the club really proud.
"They've had a few players drop out recently due to injuries and other commitments so their recent results have been less than appealing but their first half of the season was really good.
"They've been a very strong squad for all the years they've been in it, they've made finals a few times, so hopefully they can build on that and recreate some history."
Last weekend's results were both encouraging and a shock to the system for the men who "ran away" with the win.
As for the ladies, while they only had eight players on deck, they took it to their opposition but were dealt a loss.
"The girls had an understrength squad go to Dubbo. They took on the team who was coming last at the time and lost 7-nil, but with only eight players, it's pretty hard to take on a full strength squad," Reid said.
"After a shocking result the week before where the boys had a 3-2 win after leading 3-nil, they regathered and took a 7-1 win at home against Newtown.
"We were down 1-nil after 10 minutes which as a shock to the system, we've got to stop the slow starts but they picked up and ran off with it."
Finals are looking likely for the men who, with only four games left, have a significant lead on second and third.
"We've got an eight point lead on second place, and a 12 point lead on third so it's looking pretty good," Reid said.
"If we win one more game, we're guaranteed to finish equal first."
